Jefferson Sides

d. October 24, 2025

  • Jefferson was a special dog. On a snowy evening in February of 2014, our paths crossed. We’d only been married four months and were heading home from a night of fellowship with our church family. A pair of glistening eyes, nestled in a road side briar patch, caught our headlights. A quick circle back revealed that those eyes belonged to the sweetest puppy. Jefferson came home with us that night. It took a few days for him to warm up to us, but he offered up his trust and has been loyal and brave ever since. Through a remarkable series of events, we even ended up meeting Jefferson’s biological brother, a puppy that was discovered in the same area, the very same week. Jefferson was a kind and gentle old soul. In his early years he was playful, but still offered a great snuggle. As the years passed, he was the perfect lazy boy. His favorite things from over the years include his leather arm chair, catching potato peels before they made it into the trash can, barking when we pulled up and refusing to stop until we opened the car door, howling at sirens, doing “shake”, getting jealous if we pet Claire instead of him, and welcoming each of our children into the family without aggression. Jefferson leaves behind his dog sister, Claire, as well as his human family- Brandon, Kellie, Abram, Andi, and Harrison. He was everything we could hope for in a dog and he will truly be missed. We love you J Man.
